The prestigious culinary newspaper Taste Atlas puts Vietnamese iced milk coffee in the list of the 10 best coffee dishes in the world.

Vietnamese iced milk coffee is famous globally

The newspaper - TASTEATLAS wrote that Vietnamese iced milk coffee is a drink combining concentrated coffee, condensed milk and ice. Traditionally, ground coffee beans from the Vietnamese robusta variety are brewed using a filter. The coffee will slowly drip through the filter into the cup.

The coffee is then poured over ice glasses with condensed milk, usually tall glasses. There are many types of coffee in Vietnam, but coffee mixed with condensed milk (iced milk coffee) and just coffee with ice (iced coffee) are the two most famous.

Number 1 on the list is Italian Ristretto. This coffee differs from standard Espresso not only in the amount of water used to prepare it (only half) but also in taste, which is less bitter than regular espresso.

When prepared in an Espresso machine, the amount of finely ground coffee extracted is half the amount of water used for classic Espresso. The result is a more concentrated beverage with a different balance of compounds than standard espresso.

Next is Cappuccino, an Italian coffee made with Espresso and foamed milk. Many people believe that this dish was developed from Kapuziner - a coffee-based drink popular in Austrian cafes in the 18th century. The word cappuccino was first mentioned in Italy in the 1930s.

Macchiato makes the list at number five. This Italian drink is also enjoyed in the afternoon, while Cappuccino coffee is mainly drunk in the morning.

In the top 10 there are also Spanish Cortado coffee, Turkish coffee, Italian espresso; espressco freddo, freddo cappucchino and Greek frappe.
